  1. Update db.conf (locked)?

I ended up duplicating the file, and saving it elsewhere, then renaming the existing db.conf and copying my modified file back into the application package. Which appears to have worked.
  2. I'm not exactly a Mac expert here, but I tried to update: /Applications/PlasticSCMServer.app/Contents/MonoBundle/db.conf to include: <CommentLimit>65536</CommentLimit> as our comments also act as our change log in merged nodes to main. But the file is locked, and even unlocking it and allowing everyone to read/write, I still can't edit it. Can someone help me out here?
  3. Code Review Confusion

We currently use plastic in a distributed setup with local servers (pulling/pushing from each other), with a master server to manage continuous integration. We wanted to try and use the code review feature of plastic, thinking it worked similar to a pull request in git, but this does not seem to be the case. If a developer has completed his work, and creates a code review for it. I have no idea the work is done because that review does not show up in my plastic client. Can someone explain how code reviews can or should be used in a distributed environment. Right now, when a dev is done, he/she just contacts me and says can you go pull branch whatever, and review it for me. Which is not optimal for management or tracking.
  4. Add Replication Source (without previous pull)?

Actually our company already uses Tube. But yes, I want to be able to add any remote server/repo as a replication source in the branch explorer so I can track multiple developers working on a project via "view remote data", but without the need of actually having to have pulled from them first. In fact in my current situation, I have some developers who are on Tube, but they got the original code from our master server (so they did not pull directly from me), and I want to see all their branches as they relate to my current repo, but remotely (I don't want to pull them down into my repo). Is this something I should add a feature request for?
  5. Is there any way to easily add a replication source to a repository without actually pulling a remote branch first? I have several developers that have pulled their repos from the master server, and I want to be able to see their remote data, but they are not in my replication sources list. I have to actually pull a branch first to get them in there... but I don't want their branch, I just want to see the branch to decide if I even want to be pulling it.
  6. My recommendation would be to either to do away with the platform versioning in the URLs, or if that is not a possibility, simply create additional URLs for the appropriate platform versions and just keep the same code-base. Currently the installation instructions are a bit confusing (since a 16.04 repository doesn't exist, though I am told to append my Ubuntu version number), so maybe this just needs to be updated to clarify that 14.04 is the repo to use for Ubuntu 14.04 or higher (and that full compatibility testing has been performed). That would at least be something I could show system admins to ease any worries. If none of that is possible, I could always try to push the ZIP file installs through, thought that is obviously a bit more work all around.
  7. I haven't encountered any issues myself. What I mean by red flags are, other system admins asking why a custom unauthenticated repository specified for Ubuntu 14.04 is being added to the Ubuntu 16.04 package manager on not only our developer machines (which I am in control of), but also one or more servers (which they are in control of). It's just people's perceptions. There may be zero compatibility issues, but someone is inevitably going to ask me about this.
  8. That's kinda confusing, I mean I knew about 14.04 because I Installed it on older Ubuntu 14.04 variants before without issue... does anyone know when a proper 16.04 package will be supplied? I know if I put in 14.0.4 some red flags are going to go up.
  9. I was just doing a new install following the directions provided here: https://www.plasticscm.com/plastic-for-linux/index.html and I'm putting in: # PlasticSCM common packages repository deb https://www.plasticscm.com/plasticrepo/plasticscm-common/Ubuntu_16.04/ ./ # PlasticSCM-latest repository deb https://www.plasticscm.com/plasticrepo/plasticscm-latest/Ubuntu_16.04/ ./ but that does not seem to be legit... as running: # PlasticSCM common repository wget https://www.plasticscm.com/plasticrepo/plasticscm-common/Ubuntu_16.04/Release.key -O - | sudo apt-key add - # PlasticSCM-latest repository wget https://www.plasticscm.com/plasticrepo/plasticscm-latest/Ubuntu_16.04/Release.key -O - | sudo apt-key add - does not work... am I supposed to be using 14.04?
  10. Are there any documents on configuring JET? I'm used to using the db.conf file, but I haven't seen any updated documentation that includes JET. I'm most interested in changing the repository location, but in general would like to know more about JET overall.
  11. I sent you a private message with my personal em-mail address. Thanks for your help.
  12. I don't see the license under my account? Oh it was added under my work account... can we get one generated for my personal account. The JHorvath account is strictly for work, my Xorcist account is my personal one. Sorry for all the confusion.
  13. For liability reasons, I'd rather not use their corporate license for my own personal independent development. I don't want there to be any grey areas in that capacity (it's the same reason I use Visual Studio Community at home). So I would like to renew my personal license, I just wish there was an easier way to renew it each year.
  14. So far I haven't received my new license, can anyone help me out?
  15. I don't current have a Twitter account. And it appears the auto-renew did not work, seems like this entire process should be easier. I mean my server is setup with a license token to renew (I assume annually, since my license expires every year) but each year I have to request a new personal license. I've submitted a new request, and hopefully it will work with Plastic 6.0 as I'd like to upgrade as well. If I don't get a response back next week, I'll let you know.
