    Cloud Sync View and Encryption

Hi, - From your explanation, you are using a centralized workflow: workspace directly pointing to a cloud repo where you checkin, update... The sync view feature is only useful when following a distributed workflow: you have a local repo where you perform local checkins and then you need to sync (push/pull) your local branches with the cloud repo. The sync view is not about syncing workspaces but syncing repositories: https://www.plasticscm.com/branch-per-task-guide/gui/whats-a-workspace - The encryption password is locally stored so every developer working with the cloud needs to know this password. Every developer needs to use the same encryption password. If not, the data won't be recoverable by the rest of the team. Regards, Carlos.
  2. Hi, - That's correct. You can have as many local workspaces pointing to the same repo. Please check the following link: https://www.plasticscm.com/branch-per-task-guide/gui/whats-a-workspace - There is no limitation in the number of workspaces. But why would you need multiple workspaces for the same repo in the same client? It's not a very common scenario. - If you don't want to download all the files to your local wrkspace, you can use Gluon (by default it uses partial workspace) or a "cloaked.conf" in a regular workspace: https://www.plasticscm.com/gluon - Server requirements: It would be great having 4 cores, 20GB RAM, SSD disks. Please let us know if you have more questions. Regards, Carlos.
  3. Hi, - Plastic supports the fast-export format so if you are able to export the repo to git, then the jump to Plastic should be straight-forward. You can import the repo to Plastic via "cm fast-import". You can directly import your fast-export package to a Plastic cloud repo. If the package is very big or the performance is not the best, you can import the package to a local Plastic repo first and then push it to the cloud. - When you create a cloud organization you can choose the data center location that fits better for you. Our infrastructure is based on Azure. Plastic also supports a distributed workflow so can host your local repos and then push/pull to the cloud. - There is no repo size limitation. Plastic is very good handling big repositories (including huge binary files). The cloud subscription prize also depends on the storage but I wouldn't say it's expensive: https://www.plasticscm.com/cloud/pricing - Jet is default backend at the moment (also with the Team license). It has the best performance and we recommend it for all of our new users. If you may need more than 15 users, could you write to sales@codicesoftware.com ? They will be happy to assist you with this specific scenario and explain you the different licensing options. If something is not very clear, please let us know Regards, Carlos.
  4. Hi! We have released the fix: 7.0.16.2782 Regards, Carlos.
  5. I mean your www.plasticscm.com user account. In this user account is where we generate the licenses. Regards, Carlos.
  6. Hi Jim, Please reach us at support@codicesoftware.com and let us know your registered account so we can review your license. The problem seems to be that you are using Enterprise features with a Team license. We can generate a new temporary license while we are debugging so you are not locked. During these Windows patches, did you also upgrade the server version? Best regards, Carlos.

Locking types of files in Plastic SCM Cloud

No, as soon as it's checked-out, it should be locked. 1) Review that the workspace where you are locking the files is pointing to your cloud repo (not local repo). 2) Review that your lock rules match the file you are checking out. 3) When running "cm listlocks" include "--server=Organization@cloud". Regards, Carlos.

Locking types of files in Plastic SCM Cloud

Hi, You can run "cm listlocks --server=Organization@cloud" to get the locked files. If you checkout a file and it matches the lok rules, it should appear in the list. Note that your workspace should be directly pointing to the cloud repo. Regards, Carlos.

ProjectSettings always being marked as Changed

Could you include the following setting in your "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\plastic4\client.conf" file? ... <CheckRevisionMetadataSize>no</CheckRevisionMetadataSize> ... FInally, restart the Plastic GUI and check if the file still appears as changed. Regards, Carlos.

ProjectSettings always being marked as Changed

Hi, Refreshing the "Pending changes" view doesn't help? Checking the "Preferences" panel, is the "Check for file content..." actually enabled? After changing this setting, you need to re-open the Plastic GUI. Regards, Carlos.
  15. Hi @Geri, In your scenario, enabling the "Compare file contents instead of ..." option under Other options doesn't help? Regards, Carlos.

    Some files don't update

Ok, the next time it happens please consider the previous questions that should help us to debug the problem. Regards, Carlos.
  17. Hi, using the "cm showacl --extended" command you can get all the ACL (permissions assigned to an object). If you can't see any permissions denied there (double check that your user actually belong to this group and not also belong to any other group with denied permissions ), please send an email to "support@codicesoftware.com" and we can arrange a session to debug the issue with you. Regards, Carlos.
  18. Hi, I can see in the logs that you don't have permissions for the "mergefrom" operation. This permission is actually necessary to perform the merge-to operation. I don't see any reference in the error logs to the "replicatewrite" permissions. Do you have an error message related to this permission? Could you double check if your user/group has enabled the "mergefrom" permissions? Regards, Carlos.

ProjectSettings always being marked as Changed

Hi, I've been running some tests and this setting is affecting both Plastic GUI and Gluon. Just remember to re-open the GUIs when editing it. You can also manually edit the "client.conf" ... <CheckFileContentForChanged>no</CheckFileContentForChanged> ... Regards, Carlos.

    Some files don't update

Hi, - You can open a console and run "cm version". - Is the parent folder fully checked or the whole workspace content fully checked? - The next time it happens, it would be great to focus on the unchecked file and review the last changes: if it was moved by your coworker, renamed... - I guess you are not using this workspace with the regular Plastic GUI, right? - There is a command line option that you may find useful to know: [New] Gluon UI: The option '--restorefulldirs' was added to the 'partial configure' command. This option allows resetting the directory configuration in partial workspaces. Check 'cm partial configure --help' for more info. Regards, Carlos.

    Some files don't update

Hi, What is your Gluon version? Are you moving files to different folders or could you clarify the details to reproduce the issue? Regards, Carlos.
  23. Hi, It seems to be a problem. I can reproduce it with the last Plastic version and JIRA on demand. I will update the ticket as soon as we have more information. Thanks for reporting, Carlos.
  24. Hi, We were not aware of this issue. What is your JIRA version? We will test with the last Plastic version. Regards, Carlos.
